PAYMENT TERMS
No hidden taxes, fees or extra charges will be payable upon completion of the tour, except where the tour has run over the allocated time for the booking and has been at the request of the customer. Additional hourly rates are charged at £80 per hour.
PAYMENT METHOD
Payments can be accepted via secure payment link (credit cards & PayPal accounts). If you wish to pay directly using a different method (e.g. bank transfer, credit/debit card), please include this request in the FURTHER INFORMATION section of your booking enquiry. Please note that these alternative overseas payment methods may attract bank charges which must be met by the customer. All booking fees are quoted in British Pounds Sterling.
OUR CANCELLATION POLICY
Our Cancellation Policy below applies to ALL tour bookings.
Cancellation Schedule of Refunds
- 48hrs or more prior to tour date 90% of total purchase can be refunded.
- 48 hours prior to tour date 50% of total purchase can be refunded.
- 24 hours prior to tour – non refundable
- No show by the client on the day – Non refundable
* In the event that the company have made any bookings for a specialised size or type of transport, or for pre-booked admission to sites or attractions, these costs will be deducted from any final refund amount due to the customer.
REFUND POLICY
Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to Edinburgh Black Cab Tours by email or by phone (please see our Contact Details). Any cancellation request must be requested by the person who originally booked the tour. Any refund given will be deposited to the account that made the original payment within 7-10 business days. Once the refund has been processed, you will receive a Confirmation Note of Cancellation. If you have not received a Confirmation Note within 48 hours, please contact us immediately AND provide the following details:
- Client Name
- Contact Phone Number
- Original Payment Method
- Last 4 digits of credit card number (if applicable)
- Total Amount Paid
- Date of Booking
- Tour Date & Name
PERSONAL BELONGINGS & INSURANCE
Although all vehicles are fully insured for passenger and third party claims under British Law and Scottish Law, the customer’s properties are carried entirely at their own risk and Edinburgh Black Cab Tours shall not be held responsible/liable for any loss/damage to such property. All customers are advised to take out their own comprehensive travel insurance to cover any holiday cancellation or any other incidents that occur outwith the vehicle.
CRUISE SHIP PASSENGERS
Edinburgh Black Cab Tour Guides will always advise clients of the time that they have available during the tour AND the time that it will take to be able to return clients to their ship/tender on time. If clients disregard the advice of the guide, and passengers miss the latest embarkation time for their ship, Edinburgh Black Cab Tours will not be held liable for any additional costs incurred by the customer(s) to enable them to rejoin their ship at the next port.
GUIDE AVAILABILITY
In the event of the guide allocated to you becoming unavailable, all efforts will be made to find a suitable, experienced and professional guide to accompany you on your tour. During peak periods we may be required to sub contract tours to one of our partners or partner organisations. However, we will notify the customer when this is the case.
SEAT BELTS & CHILD SEATS
It is a legal requirement that passengers travelling in a car or minibus wear a seat belt.
If requested at time of booking, Edinburgh Black Cab Tours are able to provide child seats for our tours at no extra cost to clients.
All securing of children in car seats must be undertaken by a parent or guardian.
If the customer requires a child seat, please request this in the FURTHER INFORMATION section of the Booking enquiry.

WEATHER CONDITIONS
Edinburgh Black Cab Tours cannot be held responsible for any delay, deviation or cancellation due to weather conditions, nor can any trip be cancelled or amended by you at any time on the basis of weather conditions, except through mutual agreement with the operator.
In the event of cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, no refund will be offered.
ILLNESS, ALLERGIES, MEDICAL AND DISABILITY ISSUES
It is the responsibility of all passengers to advise the tour operator immediately in the event of illness or any other medical issue.
Any relevant information relating to passengers’ health, allergies or any other matters which might materially affect their safety during, or enjoyment of, the tour.
Any conditions or disabilities which might require third party medical aid, treatment, or help must be notified at time of booking. The operator cannot offer constant special attention or assistance to passengers who might require such attention. We recommend strongly that passengers with such disabilities make provision to be accompanied by carers or helpers during the tour. Not all of our vehicles are equipped to carry wheelchair assisted passengers and will be subject to availability.
ACCOMMODATION, RESTAURANTS AND ATTRACTIONS
We will, if required, provide you with suggestions for accommodation and restaurants appropriate to your budget and requirements. Although we use our best efforts to ensure that these are of an appropriate standard, we cannot accept liability for the conditions in these establishments, or for the standard of accommodation, food and drink therein.
Similarly, we will recommend activities for your enjoyment but cannot accept responsibility for your experience during these activities.
SMOKING, EATING & ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION
Edinburgh Black Cab Tours has a No Smoking Policy for all of their vehicles.
The consumption of food is NOT permitted in the vehicle unless a specific agreement has been made to the contrary at the time of the booking and agreed in writing.
The consumption of alcohol is NOT permitted ‘inside’ the vehicle at any time under any circumstances. All alcohol transported must be stowed in the exterior luggage compartment. Should the vehicle require valeting due to negligence or alcohol illness, a charge of £100 will be made.
